Summary of the research findings
Objectives: Aiming to uncover the genetic basis of abdominal obesity, we performed a genome-wide association study (GWAS) meta-analysis of trunk fat mass adjusted by trunk lean mass (TFMadj) and followed by a series of functional investigations.
8,736 European ancestry individuals, 1,541 East Asian ancestry individuals, 445 Hispanic ancestry individuals, 847 African-American ancestry individuals
